Seafront Villa
A two-storey house on the waterline, in travertine, rough stone and glass, with a lap pool set between the terrace and the sea wall.
Notes
The plot is the difficult kind that the Bay of Kotor is made of: narrow, level only where it was made level, and finishing at a sea wall with no margin behind it. Everything about the build is decided by that edge — where the pool could go, how the terrace steps down, where a crane could stand.
The house is clad in travertine laid in long courses, with one rough-stone pier carrying the corner and a timber pergola shading the first-floor terrace. Glass balustrades keep the sea in view from the inside; louvred timber shutters take the afternoon sun off the west elevation. The lap pool runs parallel to the shore so that the water reads as continuous from the living room.
